APPLICATIONS FOR MARINE INDUSTRY

Heat exchangers are widely used in the marine industry, mainly for the purpose of cooling hydraulic oils and engines. Systems that use heat exchangers include jacket water coolers, charge air cooler, lube oil cooler, compressor cooler, generator cooler, central cooler and cooler of engines and thrusters. In order for these coolers to work uninterrupted requires a continuous flow of water. So, ships use the widely available sea water to cool temperature for the above-mentioned systems.

While AISI 304 and AISI 316L are widely used across industries, ships use TITANIUM plates which are non-corrosive in nature and therefore can withstand harsh sea water.
